Your Home’s Largest Reservoir of Active Bacteria – How to Protect Yourself With Colloidal Silver
I’ve written many times before about the multitude of ways colloidal silver can be used as a safe yet powerful natural household disinfectant. Indeed, I wrote one article that names at least 14 different household products that can be completely replaced by safe, natural colloidal silver.
And I even wrote a small booklet titled “101 Powerful Household Uses for Colloidal Silver” documenting the plethora of highly effective ways colloidal silver can be used around the house to help keep your household as free from infectious microorganisms as possible.
Yet I missed one. And I think you’ll be as surprised as I was at how obvious it is. But you’ll certainly also be happy to learn that colloidal silver once again can save the day and protect yourself and your family from another germ-laden household utensil that would otherwise spread germs everywhere it’s used…
Hi, Steve Barwick here, for The Silver Edge…
In a recent article by the Health Freedoms organization, the author pointed out something I hadn’t really thought much about. Kitchen sponges are teeming with bacteria. In fact, it turns out they’re the largest reservoir of active bacteria in your entire home. As the article states:
“Given the sole purpose of kitchen sponges is to, you know, absorb stuff, we probably shouldn’t be surprised by how mind-bogglingly filthy these things can get – and yet here we are.
Scientists in Germany have conducted what they say is the world’s first comprehensive study of contamination in used kitchen sponges, and it backs up we already feared: these soggy, porous ‘cleaning products’ are positively teeming with living bacteria.
Researchers led by Furtwangen University ran genetic sequencing on samples from 14 different used kitchen sponges and ended up finding 362 different types of bacteria happily lounging within all that comfortable, springy foam.”
Of course, the vast majority of these 362 different types of bacteria were found to be relatively harmless. But some weren’t. Some were what’s referred to as “risk group 2” pathogens, meaning they have the potential to infect you or members of your family and cause disease.
What’s more, you inadvertently spread these potentially disease-causing bacteria to other areas of your house when you use that kitchen sponge. It’s called cross-contamination.
For example, how many times have you wiped your entire kitchen counter with the sponge from your kitchen sink? How many times have you wiped your kitchen cutting board with it? Your stove top?
Other areas of the house that can easily become bacterially contaminated if you wipe them with your kitchen sponge are your kitchen table, your refrigerator door (i.e., handle, shelves, etc.), your other appliances (i.e., microwave oven, coffee pot holder, can opener, etc.) and even the spouts and handles of your kitchen sink. And more.
What to Do?
Obviously, the smart thing to do is spray your kitchen sponge with colloidal silver before and after every use.
Or even better, consider setting a small shallow bowl or other container of colloidal silver on your kitchen countertop to soak your sponge in, so that every pore of your sponge is embedded with germ-killing silver particles on a regular basis.
But is it really worth the effort?
I think so. After all, when University of Arizona microbiologist Charles Gerba studied the amount of bacteria found in kitchen sinks and especially on kitchen sponges, here’s what he had to say:
“If an alien came from space came and studied the bacterial counts in your home, he probably would conclude he should wash his hands in your toilet and crap in your sink. Kitchen sinks carry more bacteria than both toilets and garbage cans. Even worse is the damp kitchen sponge nearby. It can be as much as 200,000 times dirtier than your toilet.”
And yes, the brand new study mentioned earlier completely backs up Dr. Gerba’s comment. It found that bacteria in sponges often reached concentrations of five times 1010 cells per cubit centimeters. What does that mean? “Those are concentrations which one would normally only find in fecal samples. And levels which should never be reached in a kitchen,” said the researchers.
“Fecal samples” means poo-poo. Ugghhh. Folks, it sounds like the smart move would be to disinfect that kitchen sponge (and your kitchen sink) with safe, natural, germ-busting colloidal silver every single day.
That’s why my wife Kathy and I always keep a small spray bottle filled with colloidal silver next to our kitchen and bathroom sinks.
We’ve now also placed a plastic soap dish container next to the kitchen sink, and keep it partly filled with fresh colloidal silver. And that’s the new home for our kitchen sponge.
If aliens come to our house studying the bacterial counts in our kitchen sponge, they ain’t gonna find anything, thanks to safe, natural, germ-busting colloidal silver!
Time to Consider Making
Your Own Colloidal Silver?
Unfortunately, buying colloidal silver from commercial vendors like health food stores or online sources is exorbitantly expensive. A tiny four-ounce bottle can cost you between $20 to $30. That’s certainly too expensive to use for household disinfection purposes.
So perhaps it’s time to consider purchasing a home colloidal silver generator so you can make your own colloidal silver for less than 36 cents a quart, rather than those exorbitant health food store prices.
By making your own high-quality colloidal silver so inexpensively, you’ll not only be able to use colloidal silver for its ability to fight infections such as colds, flu, sore throats, food poisoning and more, but you’ll also be able to use colloidal silver for its many household disinfectant qualities, such as:
- Spray colloidal silver onto kitchen counter tops to kill germs, mold, mildew and other microbes
- Soak your store-bought fruits and vegetables in it to eradicate potentially harmful bacteria and fungus from the food surfaces
- Clean and decontaminate faucets, door knobs, and other contact surfaces such as your kitchen cutting board or that filthy blade on your kitchen can opener
- Add a couple of ounces to your daily laundry as a natural antiseptic agent that will keep clothes, bath towels, dish rags, and other fabrics fresh and germ-free for weeks on end
- Soak your toothbrush in it to prevent microbial contamination
- Spray it around sinks, bathtubs and other surfaces to stop mold and mildew in its tracks
- Spray it topically onto cuts and burns for prevention of infection and to stimulate rapid wound healing
- Add it to your pet’s water bowl to resolve internal infections and help prevent illness.
- Gargle with it to eradicate sore throats
- Put it into a spray atomizer and sniff it up your nose to eliminate sinus infections
- Add a drop or two into your eyes to stop Pink Eye or styes in a single afternoon
- Spray your store-bought meats and other fresh foods with colloidal silver before refrigerating, to kill any nasty pathogens such as MRSA on the food surfaces
And, of course, you can safely use colloidal silver internally to stop colds and flu in their tracks…alleviate intestinal infections…stop urinary tract infections…cure upper respiratory infections…wipe out infection-based prostate problems…and much, much more!
Best of all, your new Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator from The Silver Edge will practically pay for itself with the very first one-quart batch of colloidal silver you make.
Again, health food stores generally charge as much as $30 for one of those tiny, four-ounce bottles of colloidal silver they sell. That means a quart’s worth of colloidal silver would cost you a whopping $240.
But you can pick up a new Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator for just $269.95 (during our current sale, in which you save a whopping $100 off the usual cost) and make your first one-quart batch for about 36 cents.
After your second one-quart batch, you’ll be making colloidal silver practically FREE, i.e., just a few pennies per every one-quart batch. And you can do so for the rest of your life!
Truly, the Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator is one of the few products you’ll ever buy that actually pays for itself almost immediately. And it’s astonishingly simple to use. Let me show you how easy it is:
