In a study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), researchers found, “People who fly on airplanes while contagious can indeed get other people sick, but the risk is mainly to those seated next to them or in the adjacent row.”

According to a news article about the study published by Agence France Presse:

“Researchers studied 10 transcontinental flights and meticulously tracked passenger movements to estimate the likelihood of common respiratory infections like severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and influenza, which are spread by tiny droplets in the air and on surfaces.

‘Passengers seated within one row and within two seats laterally of the infected passenger had an 80 percent or greater probability of becoming infected,’ said the study…Researchers also warned that infectious crew members could infect an average of 4.6 passengers per flight.”

I find this study and its results hilarious. After all, it only revealed what everyone else already knows through decade’s worth of personal experience: Try not to sit near a sick person on an airline flight, or you can end up sick yourself.

I can’t help but wonder how much it cost taxpayers for this study to have been conducted. I cringe to think about it.

Gwyneth Paltrow Was Right About
Airline Travel and Colloidal Silver

After actress and author Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on an episode of the “Dr. Oz” TV show back in 2013, she was publicly vilified by the airlines for stating that whenever she flies commercially with her children she always sprays a bit of colloidal silver under everyone’s tongues, as well as on the seats and surrounding area of the plane where they’re seated, in order to help prevent catching a viral infection. Here’s what she said during her appearance on Dr. Oz:

“Well, people think I’m insane because when I get on an airplane, when I get to my seat, I spray this all over my seat, and then under my tongue, because the research says that colloidal silver really keeps viruses away. It’s a real viral-repellant. So I use that a lot, especially when we’re traveling. I spray the kid’s seats and people think ‘What is this crazy woman doing?'”

Poor Gwyneth caught hell from the airlines. And she caught hell from people who mistakenly believe colloidal silver has no antiviral qualities whatsoever.

But, as it turns out, Gwyneth was right, and the airlines and other colloidal silver naysayers were wrong. And we have…ahem! …a clinical study to prove it. Flying really can make you sick, especially if you’re seated within several rows of a person sick with a viral illness.

And what about using colloidal silver to help mitigate the chances of catching a virus from one of the flight attendants or passengers on a long airline flight? Well, according to Dr. Ron Jones, M.D., a respected family practice and pediatrics doctor:

“Since the ‘common cold’ is actually caused by a variety of viruses, there is no vaccination to prevent it, and no antibiotic helps…There may actually be a “silver bullet” for these nasty viruses, though. And that bullet is, in fact, silver!

…Silver comes in solutions that can be atomized or nebulized and sprayed into the nose, throat, and lungs. [It] can be placed in a little atomizer bottle and kept on hand for use at the first sign of a runny nose or sore throat…

How is it used? At the first sign of a respiratory illness, spray both nostrils and the throat several times, and repeat frequently throughout the day for a few days. Failures are likely due to not using it often enough or long enough. But, you can stop a cold in its tracks if you hit it right away.

Personally, I do not get flu shots, but rely on this much more effective preventative and treatment.

For even more protection you can put a small amount (a tsp or less) in a nebulizer and breathe it in. I use a tiny nebulizer made by Veridian and a treatment lasts about 5 minutes.

Inhaled silver ions actually get into the blood stream and attack infection-causing microbes everywhere that blood goes.

I manufacture my own silver solutions using electrolysis with pure silver rods in distilled water.”

In another news article, this one also published in the Nevada Daily Mail a few weeks later on March 1, 2017, Dr. Jones gave additional advice. He stated:

“Most of us will only use silver for short periods, such as for a day or two to prevent an illness, or for several days to treat one.

There are some viruses that will not respond, so if there is no significant improvement within two or three days, there’s no use continuing silver for that illness.

I use it routinely after exposure to illnesses, and certainly at the first sign of infection. Kill those first few virus particles before they can replicate!”

Here’s another interesting quote on colloidal silver usage, this one from Dr. Jonathan V. Wright, M.D., a graduate of Harvard, as well as the University of Michigan Medical School, and who now runs the famous Tahoma Clinic in Washington state:

“Colloidal silver just might be the next germ-fighting wonder drug. And not just for the serious threats making headlines: It’s also effective against bacterial infections like strep throat, viruses like the flu, and fungal infections like Candida.

No matter how much a germ mutates, it can’t change enough to escape the damaging effects of colloidal silver. And in the process, the silver doesn’t harm human tissue or kill off the good bacteria in the intestine the way antibiotics and other medications do…

…Beginning in the 1970s, several independent researchers found that silver ions easily destroy Candida and other fungi. But it wasn’t until a pilot study during the mid- 1990s that included human patients suffering from terminal AIDS that medical researchers established solid evidence showing just how quick and effective silver ions can be in the treatment of Candida as well as HIV.

In this study, nine individuals who were near death were divided into two subgroups. One group suffered from HIV and a terrible Candida infection. The other group suffered from both HIV and an extreme form of malnutrition (known as Wasting Syndrome).

The researchers found that in both groups the colloidal silver was capable of killing pathogens and purging the bloodstream of germ defenses in order to restore the immune system.”

And as Dr. Joseph Weissman, M.D. board certified immunologist and Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California Medical School has stated:

“Today, many antibiotics are losing the battle with germs. Fortunately, the best germ killer, which was discovered over 2,000 years ago, is finally getting the proper attention from medical science – natural silver. I sincerely recommend that everyone have electrically generated colloidal silver in their home as an antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal agent.”

What’s more, as Dr. James Balch, M.D., and Phyllis A. Balch, CNC has stated in their book, Prescriptions for Nutritional Healing:

“Taken internally, colloidal silver can be used to fight infection. It has been shown to be effective against more than 650 disease-causing organisms, including Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria and the fungus Candida albicans.”

And as Dr. Ron Surowitz, D.O., M.D., former head of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association has stated:

“Sometimes a treatment can be worse than the illness, but not in the case of Colloidal Silver.

I have my patients spray or swish Colloidal Silver in their mouths from one to three times daily, depending on the severity of their condition…or, in a dose of one quarter to one teaspoon, and even up to one tablespoon, one to three times daily for situations that are more problematic.

I also have them use it in small amounts daily as a preventative…It’s interesting how many of my patients improve with the use of Colloidal Silver. It enhances the immune system where other antibiotics cause yeast overgrowth…”

Whenever I travel, I take a small, plastic nasal “squeeze spray” bottle with me, filled with colloidal silver.

Actually, you don’t make it. You simply convert an existing plastic “squeeze spray” bottle for use with colloidal silver. And it’s very easy to do. Here’s what I’m talking about:

Step #1: Just go to your local pharmacy, and ask where to find the little bottles of saline nasal spray solution (see image).

Bottles of saline nasal spray come in a variety of sizes. But I prefer the small size, which is 1.5 ounces, because they’re very convenient to carry, whether in a pocket, purse, glove box, or what-have-you.

Usually, the only ingredients in these little plastic bottles are water and salt and a mild preservative. So don’t pay a small fortune for the bottle. It should run about $2.99 to $3.99 at most for the small size.

If you can’t find one inexpensively at Wal-Mart or Walgreen’s or some other local pharmacy (some stores get carried away and try to charge $5.99 or $6.99 for them), go to your local “99 cent store” where you’ll surely find one of these little plastic “squeeze spray” bottles of saline solution for under a buck.

Step #2: Once you’ve purchased the little plastic bottle and brought it home, simply unscrew the lid, exposing the plastic “tit” or nozzle that the saline solution sprays out of. Pull the plastic nozzle off the top of the bottle. You might have to use a little bit of force to do so, working it from side to side to get it out of the neck of the bottle.

Step #3: Once you’ve got the little plastic nozzle out of the neck of the bottle, dump the liquid contents of the bottle into the sink.

Step #4: Using distilled water, thoroughly rinse the empty plastic bottle out. Fill it halfway with distilled water and shake it up real good in order to dislodge any salt from the plastic sides inside the bottle. Do it three or four times to get rid of all salt content.

Step #5: Once the bottle is thoroughly rinsed out, you can fill it about halfway full of 5 ppm or 10 ppm colloidal silver.

Don’t fill the bottle more than halfway full, because if it’s too full it won’t properly atomize the liquid solution when you squeeze spray it. If the bottle is overly full of colloidal silver, rather than an atomized mist you’ll end up getting an uncomfortable stream of colloidal silver shooting up into your nasal passages when you squeeze the sides of the bottle and sniff.

Step #6: Once you’ve filled the bottle about halfway full of colloidal silver, stick the little plastic nozzle back into the top of the bottle and push it firmly into place in the bottle’s neck.

Then screw the lid on, and you’re ready to go. You can put the bottle in your purse, the glove box of your car, or even carry it in your front pocket. Whatever’s convenient for you. It’s a small, lightweight bottle, very easy to carry.

And it atomizes the colloidal silver perfectly when you take the lid off and squeeze the sides of the bottle while sniffing deeply.

By having it handy when traveling, you can enjoy instant relief and protection in those instances where you might end up being exposed to some kind of allergen, or to an individual sick and coughing from an upper respiratory infection.

#2: Colloidal Silver Surface Disinfectant Spray for Airline Travel

As you might be aware, when the FDA ruled in June of 1999 that you can no longer make label claims or advertising claims for the infection-fighting qualities of colloidal silver, they took great pains to state that their ruling applied to internal as well as external use of colloidal silver products.

Yet in recent years we’ve seen the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) granting manufacturers of liquid colloidal silver products the right to state that their products, which are marketed for external “surface disinfection” use only, have the ability to kill MRSA as well as other deadly super pathogens, and can do so in only moments! • EPA Forced to Admit Silver Kills MRSA and Other Deadly Pathogens – In another stunning development, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was forced to admit that a patented liquid silver solution called Axen30TM when used as a surface disinfectant had the ability to kill multiple strains of MRSA.

It was also shown to kill deadly pathogens such as Avian Influenza A (Bird Flu), Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Feline Calicivirus (Norovirus), Rotavirus, Campylobacter jejuni and Acinetobacter baumannii.

Their product, which underwent extensive clinical testing, is now used as a first-line disinfectant on cruise liners, in order to prevent serious outbreaks of infection among the passengers and crews.

What’s more, after viewing the clinical study results which were apparently submitted by the manufacturer, the EPA allowed the makers of Axen30TM silver solution to use a two-minute kill claim for MRSA, and a three-minute kill claim for Rotavirus on their label.

This means the EPA recognizes the fact that the electrically generated liquid colloidal silver substance was clinically proven to kill these deadly pathogens within just two to three minutes of contact!

Look for an Airline-Travel-Approved Spray Bottle

Get small “fine mist” pump spray bottles in TSA-approved sizes that you can use to spray colloidal silver, so you can disinfect surfaces and spray colloidal silver into the mouth easily.

These pump spray bottles can be plastic or glass. Dark-colored glass, like the one pictured at left, is always preferable if you plan on storing colloidal silver in the pump spray bottle for weeks at a time. But plastic will work just fine for shorter periods of time.

Pump spray bottles can usually be found at your local Wal-Mart, on Amazon, or in the gardening department of your local Home Depot or similar store. I recently found some little 4 oz. amber glass pump spray bottles at my local health food store.

Or, you can find amber glass pump spray bottles ranging from 2 oz. to 16 oz. simply by googling the term “amber glass pump spray bottle.”

If you can’t find one, don’t worry. Simply go to the over-the-counter medicines department in your local pharmacy, and buy a pump spray bottle full of sore throat spray.

You can take the bottle home, dump the contents, clean the bottle out thoroughly with soap and warm water, and then rinse again thoroughly with warm water. Then fill it with colloidal silver. Voila! An instant pump spray bottle for your colloidal silver!

Pump spray bottles are important because they’re so versatile:

First of all, they allow you to spray a fine colloidal silver “mist” over areas such as countertops, doorknobs, toilet seats and handles, knobs and faucets or any other high contact surface areas where bacteria, viruses and other pathogens are concentrated.

They’re also perfect for keeping in your carry-on bag so that as soon as you board the plane and find your seat, you can quickly mist your seat, armrests, seatbelt, and the folding tray.

The tiny silver particles air dry to the surface and provide many hours of protection against pathogens. During a health crisis, I do this every time a visitor comes and goes from my house. Similarly, being diligent and spraying your airline seat as Gwyneth Paltrow suggested is a great way to help protect yourself in the confines of an airplane.

Secondly, you can use a pump spray bottle to “huff” colloidal silver. In other words, if you’ve been around a person you think may have been infected, you can go home and open your mouth and spray a light mist of colloidal silver directly into your mouth while simultaneously breathing in deeply in order to get the tiny silver particles deep down into your lungs where viruses may have lodged.

Thirdly, knowing that viruses and other pathogens often enter through the eyes and ears, you can use your pump spray bottle to lightly spray the outside of your ear, behind your ear, and even directly into your eyes (it won’t hurt you).
