Half-Gallon Ball Canning Jars for Making Colloidal Silver
Most people make colloidal silver in one-quart glass containers. But if you’d like to make larger than one-quart batches of colloidal silver, here’s some good news…
Hi, Steve Barwick here, for The Silver Edge…
It’s canning season again, and Walmart has the half-gallon Ball canning jars on sale.
So if you like making larger than one-quart batches of colloidal silver at a time, these half-gallon sized canning jars are perfect for the job.
I just picked up this case of six half-gallon Ball canning jars for $11.47 at Walmart. That works out to about $1.91 apiece – a great price!
You can also find them online through some of the sources listed in my article, “Online Sources for Glass Containers for Making, Storing and Using Colloidal Silver,” at this link. But buying them at Walmart saves you the shipping costs.
I’m told that Ace Hardware also carries these over-sized canning jars. And if they don’t have any in stock, they’ll order them for you.
Longer Silver Rods
Keep in mind that the Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator is designed to make one-quart batches of colloidal silver.
So when you increase the size of your glass production container to the half-gallon size, you have to use longer silver rods, due to the higher water volume and larger container.
The silver rods need to reach from the bottom of your generator to about an inch from the bottom of your glass production container.
Of course, that’s not a problem because you can easily get five foot rolls of the pure .999 fine 12 gauge silver wire from TheSilverEdge.com, and cut your rods to length as needed with a simple pair of tin snips or wire cutters.
Longer Production Time
You also have to increase your production time when making larger batches of colloidal silver.
For example, if you’re using a Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator from The Silver Edge, you’d usually let the machine run for three hours for a one-quart batch of 10 ppm colloidal silver.
But if you use a half-gallon sized glass production container, you’ll need to let the generator run for six hours, instead.
The basic, rule-of-thumb is to let the generator run for three hours for every quart of colloidal silver you’re making.
If you’d like to learn how to make even larger, gallon-sized batches of colloidal silver, watch my short video explaining exactly how to do it, at this link.
Silver Oxide Coating
Also keep in mind that due to the longer production time required for making significantly larger batches of colloidal silver, your silver rods will probably produce a little more silver oxide coating than usual, which is quite normal.
I’ve made full, one-gallon sized batches in which the silver oxide coating on the silver rods actually began to look like little gray “hairs” growing off the silver rods.
Again, this is perfectly normal, and it’s why we supply the little green “scrubby pad” with each generator, so you can clean your silver rods after each batch.
If some of the silver oxide happens to “fleck” off of the silver rods into your colloidal silver solution toward the end of the production run, just pour the finished batch through an unbleached paper coffee filter, available at any supermarket. It’s very simple to do. Here’s how:
First, use a rubber band to fasten an unbleached paper coffee filter to the lid of a wide-mouthed glass jar (see photo).
Then, slowly pour the finished colloidal silver solution through the paper coffee filter. (See short video on how to do it, here.)
The tiny submicroscopic silver particles will go right through the porous paper coffee filter, but any silver oxide “flecks” and larger silver particle agglomerates will be filtered out.
Making Your Own Colloidal Silver
If you’ve never made your own colloidal silver, you should definitely consider doing so. After all, a new Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator costs only $239 right now if you take advantage of the current $100 savings deal. (Don’t hesitate, the price is going up soon.)
And with this generator, you can make a half-gallon batch of colloidal silver for about 76 cents!
By comparison, a tiny, four-ounce bottle of colloidal silver in most health food stores runs anywhere from $20 to $30 or more. That means a half gallon’s worth of colloidal silver at health food store prices would cost you close to $320 or more.
So with a new Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator, you’re first half-gallon batch literally pays for the entire cost of your generator, and then some!
And after your first few batches, it’s as close to “free” colloidal silver as you can come!
Indeed, it’s so inexpensive to make, you can literally afford to bathe in it, if you wanted to. In fact, many of our customers pour a quart of colloidal silver into the bathwater during a tub soak for its soothing and youth-enhancing effects on the skin.
And hot tub users will find they can totally replace their chlorine or bromine treatments with a quart of colloidal silver added to the hot tub every week or so.
What’s more, because you can make your own high-quality colloidal silver so inexpensively, you can literally afford to give it away to family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers when they’re feeling ill or under the weather.
In fact, most people who purchase a Micro-Particle Colloidal Silver Generator from The Silver Edge suddenly find themselves to be the most popular person on the block – particularly during cold and flu season!
Everybody suddenly wants colloidal silver. So it truly comes in handy to learn how to make larger batches of colloidal silver at a time!
