Clearing Up Sinus Problems with Colloidal Silver Made Simple: 4 Easy Methods

Medical science is finally catching up to what experienced colloidal silver users have known for years: Colloidal silver is wonderful for clearing up stubborn sinus problems like infections, sinus-related cough, and allergies.

When a family member went to his doctor a couple of years back complaining of sinus allergy symptoms, his doctor tried to prescribe an extra-strength, over-the-counter, antihistamine drug.

When my family member balked at ending up hooked on antihistamines for a lifetime just to deal with sinus allergies, his doctor sarcastically replied, “I have 300 patients, and all of them are on antihistamines. You can’t live in this area of the country without being on antihistamines.”

The drug companies, of course, want you hooked on antihistamine drugs or prescription sinus medications for the rest of your life. After all, that’s how they make their money.

Of course, I told my family member about using colloidal silver to help relieve his sinus problems, rather than taking over-the-counter or prescription antihistamine drugs for allergy relief. And he’s been doing so ever since with excellent results. He hasn’t had to take an antihistamine drug in years now.

So how does colloidal silver help clear up sinus problems? Let’s take a closer look:

Colloidal Silver and Sinus Infections

In this clinical study, titled “Colloidal Silver: A Novel Treatment for Staphylococcus aureus Biofilms,” researchers wanted to determine whether or not colloidal silver would be useful as a treatment for bacterial bio-films that often cause “recalcitrant” (i.e., stubborn, chronic) sinus infections.

It’s important to understand that bacterial bio-films are essentially a protective matrix that colonies of bacteria erect around themselves like a “fortress” in order to protect themselves from threats such as antibiotic drugs, or even from the immune system itself.

It’s estimated that up to 80% of all infections involve bacterial biofilms, especially infections in the sinuses, urinary tract, gums, bones, as well as some heart and lung infections. And these bio-films are, in part, what are making some infections harder and harder to treat with conventional antibiotic drugs.

According to the study authors:

“The aim of this study was to determine whether colloidal silver has any direct bactericidal effects on these biofilms in vitro.

…. After using this [colloidal silver] solution as a nasal spray, the symptoms of a previously recalcitrant Staphylococcus aureus-infected chronic rhinosinusitis patient were observed to have improved markedly.“

In other words, a person suffering from stubborn chronic sinus infections caused by Staph bacteria that had formed bio-films inside the sinus cavity was treated with colloidal silver in the form of a nasal spray, and the sinus condition “improved markedly.” The authors concluded, “Colloidal silver directly attenuates in vitro S. aureus biofilms.”

As naturopath and clinical nutritionist Dr. Josh Axe has stated:

“Widely used to control sinus infections, colloidal silver can benefit people as a nasal spray, according to a study published in the International Forum for Allergy and Rhinology last year.

Specifically shown to kill Staph aureus, you can add a few drops of silver in a ‘neti pot’ or by applying directly into your nasal cavity and letting it drain down your throat by tilting your head back.

Also, it’s important to point out that recent research indicates that hidden infections by pathogens could be a cause of respiratory inflammation associated with common allergies and asthma. Colloidal silver destroys Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, which may be the reason why airborne allergy sufferers often find such dramatic relief from colloidal silver.“

And as one of my favorite natural health websites, Earthclinic.com, states:

“Colloidal silver is a safe and effective alternative medical treatment for sinus infections, with antiviral, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties. With nearly 32 million cases reported to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention annually, sinus infections can easily be considered one of the most common low-risk health conditions.

However, just because the condition is low-risk in terms of associated health effects does not mean treatment isn’t warranted or necessary. Because of pressure, inflammation in the nasal cavity and congestion, a sinus infection can be extremely uncomfortable and even painful. Colloidal silver can help.“

The bottom line is that colloidal silver is widely used as a safe, natural sinus rinse to help alleviate sinus infections. And medical science is finally catching up with what natural health enthusiasts have known all along:

So what are the best ways to use colloidal silver to quickly relieve sinus problems?

4 Easy Ways to use Colloidal Silver to Ease Sinus Problems

Based upon my research for The Ultimate Colloidal Silver Manual, I’ve found that there are four simple ways to get colloidal silver up into the sinus cavities:

1. Clear Sinuses with Colloidal Silver in an Eyedropper

Take a regular eyedropper (available at any pharmacy) and fill it with colloidal silver. Lay on your back and then slowly, start dripping colloidal silver, drip by drip, into one of your nostrils. Sniff the droplets of colloidal silver as deeply into your sinuses as you can as you drip them into your nose. Once you let a full dropper’s worth of colloidal silver slowly drip into your nostril, do the other nostril. You might need to do this several times a day for a few days in order to notice the sinus problem resolving.

This is probably the simplest method of resolving the sinus problem and related cough. But in my own personal experience, it is not as effective as any of the other three methods below. So if that doesn’t work for you, you might want to consider trying this:

2. Use Colloidal Silver Nasal Spray to Quickly Relieve Sinus Problems

This method is both inexpensive and incredibly easy. Just go to your local pharmacy and purchase one of those little one-ounce or two-ounce nasal squeeze spray bottles full of saline solution that people use to spray a fine mist of saline solution up into their sinuses. They cost about a buck.

But what you’re going to do when you get it home is grab the little nipple-nozzle and pull it right out of the bottle. Then dump the saline solution and wash the empty squeeze spray bottle out thoroughly with warm water. Then rinse it out again, very thoroughly, with distilled water.

Finally, fill it about half-way with colloidal silver (no more than halfway or it won’t spray the fine mist you need) and put the little nipple-nozzle back in. Then start using it to spray a fine mist of colloidal silver up into your nostrils at least three or four times a day, while sniffing vigorously to get it up into the sinuses. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of making your own nasal spray squeeze bottle as described above, you can buy a simple pump spray bottle like the one to the left, which are usually available on Amazon or other websites for a few bucks. Sometimes even local health food stores carry them. They work just as well, or better, than the squeeze spray bottle described above.

Those options usually do the trick. But if not, here’s another method avid colloidal silver users use:

3. Heal Sinus Problems with Colloidal Silver in a Neti Pot

Go to your local pharmacy and buy a small plastic pot with a long spout, called a “neti pot.” The neti pot allows you to completely flush your sinuses. It usually comes with little packets of powder containing sea salt and baking soda.

Basically, you follow the directions that come with the neti pot, adding lukewarm water to the basin of the pot, while stirring in a packet of the powder. But you’re going to add about an ounce of colloidal silver to the mix and make sure it’s well stirred. (For more stubborn sinus problems, some people add half warm water and half colloidal silver to the neti pot.)

The general idea is to stand over a bathroom sink, lean forward, turn your head to one side, and insert the end of the long neti pot spout into one of your nostrils, and then literally start pouring the solution into your nostril (see a short video demonstration of how to use a neti pot, here). The liquid solution will go straight to your sinus cavity, and then run out your other nostril. I know it sounds weird. But for many people with stubborn sinus issues, rinsing out the sinuses with water and colloidal silver is the #1 most effective choice.

4. Nebulizing Colloidal Silver to Relieve Sinus Problems

Finally, if all else fails, you can nebulize colloidal silver directly into your sinuses. When you add colloidal silver to the reservoir in a medical nebulizer and turn the machine on, it atomizes the liquid colloidal silver and turns it into a vapor you can inhale through your mouth or through your nose. In the case of a suspected sinus issue, inhaling through the nose would obviously be the most desirable method, because that allows the colloidal silver vapor to coat your sinus cavities as you inhale it.

Nebulizing colloidal silver into the sinuses is generally considered to be a last resort for most people, because medical nebulizers are often hard to come by, and they can be a bit pricey, especially compared to a simple pump spray bottle or squeeze spray bottle such as those discussed above. Plus, nebulizers are considered to be medical devices, so most commercial outlets such as pharmacies will want a prescription from your doctor before they’ll sell you one.

However, people often sell nebulizers on Amazon and on eBay without requiring a prescription to buy. And there’s a nifty site called JustNebulizers.com, too, where you can choose from a wide array of nebulizers. You can easily pick one up for under $50 if you shop carefully. One of my favorite brands of nebulizers is called “Omron.” They’re a bit more expensive, but they’re very well-made. Nevertheless, there are many brands and they all do a pretty good job of atomizing liquids (such as colloidal silver) so they can be inhaled.

Most people I know nebulize their colloidal silver anywhere from three to five minutes at a time, and then stop. You may have to do it several times throughout the course of the day, initially. But it doesn’t take long to start healing your sinuses, and you can then judge how often you need to use it after that. For me, it generally knocks out a sinus problem (along with that irritating sinus cough) in two or three days, or less.

In Conclusion…

Through these four methods, allergens can be rinsed out of the sinuses and any allergy-producing pathogens can be killed before they can colonize the sinuses enough to create a sinus infection. And after rinsing the sinuses with colloidal silver, a light coating of silver is left in the sinuses for prolonged anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial relief.
